The Rochester Mutual Aid Network needs funds to operate, plain and simple. We use those funds to purchase supplies that the community needs. Those supplies are then distributed to members of the community who seek aid through this site. We offer three different ways you can donate funds, you will find those options below.
Our organization is run by a team composed solely of volunteers and we have almost no administrative costs. We are currently fiscally sponsored under Metro Justice's 501(c)(3) and 10% of our funds we raise go to them, since they do our taxes and some other financial work. We hope to incorporate under our own 501(c)(3) soon. Our online payment processor (Stripe) also receives a percentage of each online donation, as a fee for processing payments. After those costs are deducted, 100% of the funds we receive go to direct aid for community members.
If you cannot donate money but would still like to help the Network, please consider Getting Involved by volunteering! You can also submit any items you would like to donate to our database, as we try and source items to fulfill requests directly from the community.
Our work is ongoing and requires continued support. If you are able to, please consider signing up for a monthly recurring donation! We'll just need you to register on the site first, if you haven't already done so.
If you'd like to make a one-time donation, you can do that here. We use Stripe to process payments, so you can use major credit/debit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay!
If you are a member of the Genesee Co-op Federal Credit Union, you can call the co-op (585-461-2230) to ask them to transfer your donation to the Rochester Mutual Aid Network. You can also visit the co-op in person at 395 Gregory St. and make a deposit, even if you're not a member!
